Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso seeks a Clinical and Operational Liaison for the Burn Program to coordinate patient-centered care from injury through inpatient, outpatient, rehab and community reintegration.

This role ensures timely access to care, facilitates multidisciplinary communication, supports patients and families, and contributes to quality, regulatory readiness, ABA standards, and program growth as a regional referral center.

Qualifications

  • RN with three years of experience in Burn Care, Trauma or ICU.
  • Current Texas RN license and BLS certification.
  • ABLS within one year; CBRN within three years of start.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient-centered care across injury, inpatient, outpatient and rehab stages.
  • Facilitate multidisciplinary communication and family support.

Job Summary

Serves as a clinical and operational liaison across the continuum of burn care and the performance improvement support. Coordinates patient-centered care from initial injury through inpatient treatment, outpatient follow-up, rehabilitation, and community reintegration. Ensures timely access to care, facilitates multidisciplinary communication, supports patients and families, and contributes to quality, regulatory readiness, and program growth in alignment with the American Burn Association (ABA) standards. Plays a critical role in supporting the Burn Program development, improving patient experience and outcomes, reducing fragmentation of care, and supporting the hospital’s mission as a regional referral center.

  • Knowledge of clinical and nursing practices.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective teaching, presentation, and marketing skills.
  • Knowledgeable of prevention program development and implementation.
  • Knowledgeable of adult and child education theory.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain positive relationships with community services.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Work Experience

Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Burn Care, Trauma or ICU is required.

License / Registration / Certification
  • Current and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas is required.
  • Current BLS training is required.
  • Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) is required within one year of being in the position.
  • Certified Burn Registered Nurse (CBRN) is required within three years of being in the position.
Education and Training

Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required. Master degree in Nursing is preferred.
