Job summary

HealthNet is seeking an Interpreter at our Indianapolis health centers to assist Burmese-speaking patients and families. You will translate, liaise with non-English-speaking communities, collect patient information, and support front-desk tasks and records handling.

This full-time role may include evenings and Saturdays; candidates should be able to travel to HealthNet centers as needed and participate in cultural education for staff.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Knowledge and experience translating Burmese in a medical setting.
• Must be or be willing to be certified in translation.

Responsibilities

• Translate English for Burmese patients and families.
• Serve as liaison between non-English speakers and HealthNet.
• Respond to language-interpretation and communication concerns.
• Assist in collecting patient information.
• Support financial screening, phone calls, appointments, cashier area and medical records.
• Provide cultural education to employees.
