Job summary

State of California is seeking an experienced Bureau Director within the California Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division. This senior role directs multiple branches and oversees enterprise application services, data systems, and infrastructure strategies to ensure secure, reliable IT services for client agencies.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large, interdisciplinary IT teams.
• Experience developing and implementing policy for data processing or the criminal justice system.
• Experience with core Java or C#, or other OO languages.
• IT leadership applying best practices in designing and delivering highly available systems.
• Excellent written and oral communication with business and executive stakeholders.
• Experience monitoring budgets and budget change proposals.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct the activities of multiple CJIS divisions.
• Develop policies and strategies for DOJ enterprise applications and infrastructure.
• Advocate legislative solutions and build partnerships with agencies.
• Represent ADB and CJIS before Legislature and external partners.
• Provide technical direction to staff to ensure efficient execution.
