Job summary

Continental in Mount Vernon, IL is seeking a manufacturing associate to inspect work areas for safety hazards, start and monitor the Bundler, and sort tires onto the conveyor for bundling. You will load strapping, make Bundler adjustments, and ensure tires are bundled correctly.

Forklift operation is required when Bundlers are idle, in a heavy work environment with lifting up to 100 lbs and multiple physical tasks. Safety procedures must be followed, and shifts may include evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• No relocation assistance is offered.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the working area to ensure there are no safety hazards (trip/slip hazards).
• Start Bundler by engaging controls.
• Sort and place tires on the conveyor line to be run through the bundling machine.
• Make minor adjustments on Bundler and load strapping into Bundler as needed.
• Observe Bundler machine operations to ensure tires are bundled properly.
• Operate forklift on shifts when bundlers are idle, as needed.
• Work in a heavy-lifting environment, with lifting up to 100 lbs and carrying weight up to 50 lbs.

• Classified as heavy work inclusive of lifting up to 100 lbs. and/or carrying weight up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting; Occasional squatting, climbing stairs, and climbing ladders

HOURLY PAY

• The hourly rate for this position is $22.22 per hour. This position is also eligible for a quarterly incentive program.
• This role will be eligible for shift differential which is added onto your hourly rate. The additional shift differential is $0.20 per hour for overnight shifts, $0.15 per hour for evening shifts, and $1.00 per hour for weekend shifts.
• Pay rate is based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
