Qualifications

Job Summary:

The Bulk Truck Driver will maintain and safely operate a bulk truck, transporting dry powder to batch plant from suppliers. The bulk truck driver receives directions and work assignments from the Director of Concrete Operations as well as the Dispatch Manager. Work hours vary daily according to customer demand for products and services.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely operates a bulk truck to transport dry powder to batch plants.
• Follows designated routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Maintains cleanliness of the truck.
• Complies with all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies related to handling and transportation of hazardous materials.
• Communicates effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and other team members.
• In-person attendance is required.

Other Required Duties and Responsibilities:

• Complete other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
• Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to access and navigate the facility.
• Able to safely climb and descend ladders.
• The position will require work outside of normal business hours.

Skills/Abilities:

• Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Must maintain professional relationships with managers and colleagues.
• Willingness to learn, with a positive attitude, dependability, and strong teamwork.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently is essential.
• Represent The Gerken Companies to customers in a professional manner, supporting the company’s goals.

Education and Experience:

• Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school is required.
• Minimum of two years of driving experience in a Class A vehicle is preferred.
