Job description

Purpose

The Bulk Loader is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient loading and unloading of chemical products and raw materials into bulk transportation equipment, including tank trucks, railcars, totes, and other approved containers. This position ensures all loading activities are performed in compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements while supporting production operations, inventory accuracy, and on-time customer deliveries. The Bulk Loader serves as a key contributor to maintaining a safe workplace and protecting the integrity of company products throughout the shipping and receiving process.

Scope and Responsibilities
  • Safely load and unload bulk chemicals (hazardous and non-hazardous), raw materials, and finished products in accordance with established operating procedures and customer requirements.
  • Verify product identity, quantities, shipping documentation, certificates of analysis, and regulatory requirements prior to loading or unloading operations.
  • Perform pre-loading, unloading, and equipment inspections to ensure tankers, railcars, hoses, pumps, valves, and loading systems are safe and suitable for use.
  • Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and applicable DOT, OSHA, and EPA standards.
  • Obtain product samples and perform required quality checks to verify compliance with product specifications.
  • Accurately complete shipping, receiving, inventory, inspection, and regulatory documentation.
  • Monitor loading and transfer operations to prevent spills, contamination, overfills, and other process deviations.
  • Respond appropriately to operational upsets, spills, leaks, and emergency situations in accordance with established procedures.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Logistics personnel to ensure efficient movement of materials and timely shipment of customer orders.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of loading racks, storage areas, and workspaces to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Identify and communicate safety concerns, equipment issues, process improvements, and operational risks to supervision.
  • Participate in required safety training, emergency response drills, continuous improvement initiatives, and other duties as assigned.
  • Operate and move tanker trucks and trailers around company property.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. (In lieu of degree requirement, may accept two years of additional manufacturing/lead experience as a trade-off.)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Preferred: Class A CDL License, Hazardous Materials Endorsement, Tanker Endorsement
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes.
  • Experience/ proficiency with ERP systems
  • Experience in warehousing and logistics
