Job Summary

The Building, Grounds and Vehicle Supervisor oversees the maintenance, repair, and overall condition of the organization's facilities, surrounding grounds, and vehicles. This role involves supervising maintenance staff, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring that all building systems and vehicles operate efficiently and safely. The supervisor is also responsible for developing maintenance schedules, managing budgets, and ensuring adherence with safety and environmental regulations.

Essential Functions
  • Supervise and train building, grounds, and vehicle maintenance staff.
  • Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor work to ensure timely and quality completion.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and participate in the hiring process of team members.
  • Oversee routine and preventive maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components.
  • Ensure the upkeep of outdoor areas, including landscaping, sidewalks, parking areas, and snow removal.
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or projects.
  • Collaborate with Director of Operations for Development and implementation of safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for staff and visitors.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to building operations and environmental standards.
  • Maintain records of inspections, permits, and compliance activities.
  • Assist in developing and managing the budget for building, grounds and vehicle maintenance.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment; order materials as needed.
  • Prepare cost estimates for maintenance projects and repairs.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance schedules for all building systems, grounds, and vehicles.
  • Plan and oversee special projects, such as renovations or new installations.
  • Coordinate with other departments to minimize disruptions during maintenance activities.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of the organization's vehicle fleet, including scheduling regular maintenance, coordinating repairs, and ensuring vehicles are safe and operational.
  • Maintain records of vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards for vehicle operations.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age: 21 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in building maintenance or related fields preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in building / grounds and / or vehicle maintenance, with at least one year in a supervisory role.
  • Ability to perform physical activities, such as lifting (up to 60 pounds), bending, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
  • Expressed desire to work with persons with developmental disabilities.
  • Physical ability to conduct training involving manual labor.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Final hiring is pending an OSBI background check, a clean driving record, a Community Services Registry check, and pre-employment screening.
Special Requirements
  • A criminal arrest check will be conducted through the OSBI; any person with a felony conviction will not be eligible for employment at A New Leaf (Section 1025.1 et seq. of Title 56 of the Oklahoma statutes, House Bill 1790). A background check will be requested from the OSBI. Any prospective employee with a felony or misdemeanor conviction, guilty plea, or plea of nolo contendere will not be eligible for employment. This prohibition may be disregarded if an appropriate waiver is obtained from the Office of the Director, Developmental Disabilities Service Division, Department of Human Services, or their designees, and the Board of Trustees of A New Leaf approves such waiver.
  • A Community Services Registry check (House Bill 1790) will be conducted through the Developmental Disabilities Services Division, Department of Human Services, and any person whose name appears on the registry cannot work for A New Leaf.
  • Employees and A New Leaf are engaged in an at-will employment relationship, meaning that either party is free to terminate the relationship at any time with or without reason and with or without notice.
