Summary:

The Building Utility Engineer I will operate, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair equipment controls on equipment, utility, and distribution systems. These include, but are not limited to, domestic water, steam, chilled/hot water systems, HVAC, electrical distribution systems, emergency power systems, vertical lift systems, medical gas and vacuum systems, pneumatic tube systems, and building automation.

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED with 8+ years of experience.

• Technical or College education considered in place of years of experience.

• Work towards obtaining expert status on at least two systems and obtain a State License in a related field is preferred.

• Skills in Healthcare/Commercial Maintenance, Building Automation, Plumbing, Electrical, Emergency Power systems, and Computer knowledge are required.

• Ability to troubleshoot problems and make necessary repairs of systems and equipment.

• Experience with Pneumatic tube systems, Medical Gas, Building Automation, and AutoCAD is preferred.

• Develop positive working relationships with colleagues and customers through good service skills and effective communication.

Certification/Licensure:

• Universal EPA certification is preferred. City/State license in a related field is also preferred. Healthcare experience is advantageous.
