Dickies Arena is a 14,000 seat, multipurpose venue located adjacent to the Will Rogers Memorial Center campus in Fort Worth, Texas. Owned by the City of Fort Worth and managed by Trail Drive Management Corp (TDMC), the arena hosts concerts, sporting events, family entertainment, and is the new home to Fort Worth Stock Show rodeo performances.

Job Description

The Building Technician II with Mechanical skills performs vehicle and building maintenance, including repairs, servicing, and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment, as well as commercial building systems. Responsibilities include minor repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on HVAC, lighting, electrical, F&B, plumbing systems, and other building equipment, all in compliance with current codes and professional standards. The candidate must work a flexible schedule, minimum 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, supporting arena operations and safety.

Essential Job Functions
  • Perform repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on arena and parking vehicles and equipment, including utility vehicles, golf carts, pickups, shuttle buses, forklifts, and boom lifts.
  • Maintain building systems such as plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors, and hardware throughout the arena and parking facilities.
  • Operate, repair, and maintain HVAC systems like chillers, cooling towers, boilers, and related equipment.
  • Work safely in confined spaces and high areas using PPE, scaffolding, lifts, and ladders.
  • Assist with testing of emergency systems, fire protection, and fire alarm systems.
  • Work outdoors for lighting, electrical repairs, street light poles, and snow/ice removal as needed.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, manage inventory, and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
  • Assist with arena seating configurations and setup for major events like the Fort Worth Stock Show Rodeo.
  • Lift supplies and materials weighing 75-100 lbs. as needed.
  • Follow safety standards including OSHA and NFPA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3+ years of vehicle mechanical maintenance experience.
  • 2+ years of commercial facility maintenance preferred.
  • Trade school training or certifications in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or vehicle repair.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Texas motor vehicle license required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience with CMMS preferred.
  • Strong communication, prioritization, and teamwork skills.
Additional Information

No supervisory responsibilities. Must meet physical and environmental demands, including working outdoors, lifting up to 100 lbs., and working in high, confined, or outdoor environments. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays is essential.
