Job summary

CGL Facility Management, LLC is seeking a General Trades Technician to handle maintenance across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and general building tasks. You will work on preventive and responsive maintenance for facilities, reading blueprints and performing repairs as needed.

The role requires adaptability for indoor/outdoor work across weather conditions, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and participation in on-call rotations with occasional travel between sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of facilities maintenance or relevant trade experience preferred.
• Working knowledge across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and general building maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Tackle service requests across trades: electrical, lighting, HVAC, furnaces, plumbing, carpentry and general building issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment operating smoothly.
• Respond to emergencies such as sewer backups, water main breaks, fires, leaks and urgent repairs.
• Read blueprints/plans and operate plant equipment; use CMMS to enter work orders.

CGL Facility Management, LLC partners with clients to keep critical buildings safe, efficient, and reliable.Is this you?Can you move from a flickering light to a noisy air handler without missing a beat?Do you enjoy reading schematics as much as swinging a hammer?Are you at your best when you’re solving problems that keep facilities running?What you’ll tackleService requests across trades: electrical, lighting, HVAC systems, furnaces, appliances, water heaters, disposals, plumbing/fixtures, carpentry, painting, roofing, and general building issues.Preventive maintenance to prevent deterioration and keep equipment operating smoothly.HVAC PMs: adhere to the preventive maintenance program, including filter replacements and basic servicing.Emergencies: sewage back-ups; water main and lateral breaks (locate, dig, repair, and restore); fires; leaks; urgent appliance repairs.Assembly/installation/repair of wiring, electronic components, pipe systems, machinery, and equipment.Operate plant equipment and building automation systems.Use blueprints, plans, repair manuals, and parts catalogs to plan work effectively.Maintain tools and materials in ready condition; manage accurate inventories of tools and supplies (snakes, gauges, drills, etc.).Safely handle chemicals and hazardous materials; apply PPE appropriately.Uphold CGL standards, OSHA requirements, and client expectations for cleanliness and safety.Identify unsafe conditions and correct them promptly; meet quality and timeliness benchmarks.Enter and track work orders in the CMMS per policy.Coach and mentor teammates from other trades on fundamentals.What you bringHigh School Diploma or GED (required).1–3 years of facilities maintenance or relevant trade experience (preferred).Working knowledge across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.Computer literacy and experience communicating with clients and colleagues.Team-first mindset, strong work ethic, dependable and positive attitude.Comfort working indoors/outdoors in all weather; lift 50 lbs routinely and occasionally more than 50 lbs.Willingness to take on-call rotations as needed.Valid in-state driver’s license (required).EPA 608 and skilled trade certifications (preferred).Schedule & mobilityOn-call availability as needed.Driving is part of the job: you may use a company vehicle (from rarely to frequently) or a personal/rental vehicle to conduct company business more than 50% of the time, based on assignment.Pay & benefitsCompensation is competitive and equitable, based on geography, skills, education, licenses/certifications, and experience.
