Job summary

Los Angeles World Airports is seeking a Building Operating Engineer to operate, monitor, and maintain high pressure boilers, gas/oil fired units, steam turbines, chillers, cooling towers, and related equipment; ensure energy efficiency and reliable service for the facility; operate building automation systems and respond to tenant service requests.

Qualifications

• Unlimited Steam Engineer’s license required at time of filing.
• EPA certificate required prior to appointment.
• Turbine endorsement required prior to probation.
• Class C DMV license with clean record criteria for eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain high pressure boilers, gas/oil fired units, steam turbines, chillers, cooling towers and related equipment to ensure reliable energy supply.
• Manage building systems including air handling units, pumps, and building automation systems; respond to tenant service requests and safety alarms.
• Perform water treatment tests and ensure safe operation and energy efficiency of the facility.
