Job summary

The Durst Organization seeks an Engineer at One World Trade Center, 285 Fulton St. Shift: 1st, Tue-Sat, 7:00AM-3:00PM. Pay range: $47.71-$53.01 per hour. Responsibilities include startup, regulation, repair, and safe operation of equipment within established limits.

Qualifications include 3–5 years in a high-rise operating engineer role, BMS knowledge, EPA Universal Certification, and extensive experience with HVAC systems and safety procedures. OSHA/COF certifications may be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years as operating engineer in Class A high-rise commercial building.
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems in a timely manner.
  • Working knowledge of BMS and have control experience.
  • Knowledge of multi-stage direct expansion (DX) water cooled packaged A/C units and modular chiller systems.
  • EPA Universal Certification; experience with Steam and Electrical Systems and Sprinkler Standpipe System.
  • Proficient in pumping, steam heating, generator, ATS, diesel transfer systems, electrical and fire suppression systems.
  • Knowledge of Schneider Electric Andover Continuum BATC system or equivalent BMS; start-up procedures.
  • Electrical experience including reading schematics and wiring diagrams; ability to use IR scanners, digital meters, and refrigerant gauges.

Responsibilities

  • Start up, regulate, repair, and shut down equipment safely.
  • Monitor meters, gauges, and controls to ensure safe operation within limits.
  • Use hand/power tools for repairs and maintenance from overhaul to valve/gasket replacement.
  • Record events and maintenance data in equipment logs.
  • Audit safety devices and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Test and chemically treat hydronic systems to prevent corrosion.
  • Perform related duties as required.
