Job summary

Grand Lake Health/Premier Health South YMCA in Minster, OH is hiring a Building Supervisor for evenings and weekends. This part-time, non-exempt role will supervise staff on duty, enforce procedures, and promptly respond to emergencies to keep the facility safe and welcoming for members.

You will also guide members to activities, assist with member inquiries, and coordinate substitutes when areas are understaffed. A customer-focused approach and solid computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of related customer service experience; 2+ years supervisory experience preferred.
• Computer skills required; strong interpersonal skills.
• Good customer service skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the building during evenings and weekends.
• Ensure staff follow proper procedures and are in correct locations.
• Lead in emergency situations and call for substitutes as needed.
• Provide information to members and inform program staff of issues.
• Follow safety guidelines and proactively solve problems.
• Conduct tours for prospective members and guests.
• Guide new members to activities and areas.
• Perform light maintenance duties if necessary.
• Keep direct supervisor informed of concerns or incidents.

Position Summary:

Responsible for supervising the building during evening and weekend hours, when Program Staff are not available. The Building Supervisor will be proactive in disciplinary measures as needed, act appropriately and quickly should an emergency arise, and solve problems as necessary.

Essential Functions:

• Ensures correct and proper procedures are being followed by all staff on duty
• Checks that staff members are in their correct locations
• Takes the lead in emergency situations
• Offers information to members as needed
• Informs program staff of problems arising in their areas
• Calls for subs for areas that are not staffed
• Follows appropriate safety guidelines.
• Proactively solves problems.
• Conducts tours of the facility for prospective members and guests.
• Guides new members to their desired activities and areas
• Remains knowledgeable of member information and programs.
• Performs light maintenance duties, if necessary.
• Communicates to direct supervisor any concerns or incidents that may need follow-up
• Is familiar with member information as outlined in the new member handbook.

Qualifications:

• One year or more of related customer service experience required; two years or more of supervisory experience preferred.
