Job summary

Beecher Road School, part of the Woodbridge School District, seeks building substitutes for the 2026/27 school year to support day-to-day operations. You will have the flexibility to set your own schedule based on building needs.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree or higher (or a high school diploma with relevant experience), strong communication, teamwork, and a willingness to follow directions. Preferred CT teaching certification eligibility; compensation is a daily rate of $130 with

SUMMARY

The Woodbridge School District consists of one school: Beecher Road School, a PreK-6 elementary school employing approximately 175 staff members to serve and educate approximately 870 students. For the 2026/27 school year, the District seeks building substitutes for day-to-day employment based on building needs. You have the flexibility to determine your preferred work schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains proper classroom management while effectively implementingdaily teacher lesson plans

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Required:

• Bachelor's degree or higher; or high school diploma or equivalent, plus experience with school-age children
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to take direction and work effectively with others
• Background, interest, and/or expertise in elementary education

Preferred:

• Hold or be eligible for State of Connecticut teaching certification

SALARY AND BENEFITS

This position is compensated at a daily rate of $130 (with a bachelors degree). Hours of work are 8:15 AM until 3:25 PM. Insurance benefits are provided in accordance with federal law. Interested individuals are encouraged to contact the Office of the Superintendent for additional information.
