Newtown Public Schools is seeking a permanent Building Substitute for Sandy Hook Elementary School. The role requires reporting to the main office each morning, coordinating with the secretary on that day’s assignments, and providing coverage in regular and special education classrooms, including supervision during lunch and recess.
A Bachelor’s Degree is required, with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to confidentiality to support students in grades K-4 and collaborate with staff.
The Building Substitute will report to the main office each morning and speak with the secretary regarding their assignment(s) for the day. Assignments may vary day to day and include teaching in regular education and special education classrooms, providing coverage to teachers for meetings and supervising students during lunch and/or recess.
