Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking a Building Structural Intern to join our Structural/Marine Group in Fairfax, VA. Interns will contribute to a range of projects—from buildings to waterfront facilities—while gaining training in structural analysis, concept design, and construction documents.

We offer a mentoring culture and opportunities for staff development. This internship emphasizes collaboration with engineers and architects in a hands-on learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an ABET accredited Civil Engineering bachelor or master program preferably with Structural Concentration.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with structural design and analysis software (RISA, STAAD, etc.) a plus.
• Experience with drafting and modeling software (Revit and AutoCAD) a plus.
• U.S. Citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Interns will join our collaborative team of engineers and architects on a variety of challenging projects, including buildings, industrial facilities, water/wastewater plants, and waterfront facilities.
• Interns will receive training in structural analysis and design for a variety of building types and materials.
• Interns will also be trained in developing concept designs and creating construction documents for clients across a broad range of markets.
