Job summary

Galloway Ridge is seeking a Building Specialist with EPA certification and HVAC experience to perform upkeep, repair, installation and refurbishment across all campus facilities, including resident apartments and common areas.

This role supports plumbing, electrical, kitchen equipment, and related building systems; requires 5-7 years HVAC, ability to read blueprints, operate hand and power tools, and work both independently and with a team. Schedule is Mon-Fri 8:30-5 with weekly on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Must have 5-7 years' of HVAC experience.
• Must have a valid EPA certification.
• Must have prior experience in general maintenance, boilers, HVAC units, refrigerators, electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, and carpentry.
• At least one year of woodwork/carpentry and/or plumbing is preferred.
• Must be able to read measuring instruments, blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
• Able to work independently and with a team.
• Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to work indoors and outdoors as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs upkeep, repair, installation, restoration, refurbishment, and support activities for plumbing, electrical, appliances, kitchen equipment, HVAC systems, woodwork/carpentry, general maintenance, and miscellaneous service work for all buildings in an efficient and complete manner.
• Completing work orders from start to finish. This includes managing personal work requests, communicating with residents and staff, and documenting activities into the work order system.
• Maintains assigned supply levels and ordering regarding tools, stock and inventory as needed and requested.
• Maintains awareness of safety-related conditions and reports and/or repairs those conditions immediately.
• All other duties assigned include, but not limited to, enhancing the Resident Experience.

Galloway Ridge is an upscale continuing care retirement community offering top-quality care in a warm, welcoming environment - and we're looking for a well-versed Building Specialist who has their EPA certification and prior experience in HVAC to join our team! The Building Specialist will perform upkeep, repair, installation, restoration, refurbishment, and support activities for all buildings on campus. This may include common space, business areas, resident apartments and single-family homes, building equipment, and structural components. This involves plumbing, electrical, appliances, kitchen equipment, HVAC systems, and general maintenance service requests.

This position will be Mondays - Fridays from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. There will be an on-call rotation to respond to emergency issues for an entire week (Monday-Sunday). The person on-call is expected to respond to emergencies anytime of day and night.

• Must have prior experience in general maintenance. This may include boilers, heating and air conditioning units, refrigerators and freezers, ice machines, electrical wiring, plumbing, painting, drywall work, and minor carpentry.
• At least one year of woodwork/carpentry and/or plumbing is preferred.
• Must be able to operate hand and power tools, read measuring instruments, read blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
• Able to work independently and collaborate with a group.
• Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be willing to perform duties inside and outside of the facility when needed.
