Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications One year industrial, custodial or related experience is desired but not required. Also desired is a knowledge of floor machines and materials used in maintenance of carpet and resilient floors. ServSafe certification will be obtained once hired and paid for by UGAMI . Current drivers license preferred.
Position Summary This position performs manual work in a variety of cleaning and related duties in and around university buildings and facilities. This includes classrooms, residence halls, guest rooms, lab rooms and offices, and vehicles. Work involves the performance of cleaning in an assigned building or building area. The primary responsibility is for the effective use of proper methods and materials in cleaning and caring for building areas and equipment. The individual works under close supervision and follows well‑established routines and procedures. A small percentage of time will be assisting UGAMI special projects as needed, which will necessitate maintaining a ServSafe food handler certification and following instructions well.
