Job summary

Splendido is seeking a Building Services Technician to keep our community buildings, systems, and grounds safe, functional, and well maintained. This hands-on role covers preventative maintenance and timely repairs to support a welcoming environment for residents and team members.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in Senior Living.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, refrigeration, and electrical systems; knowledge of HVAC systems a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Internet, and Outlook.
• Ability to learn work order system.

Responsibilities

• Timely completion of routine repairs, maintenance requests, and work orders throughout the community.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Paint common areas and turnover apartments to maintain appearance.
• Assist with maintenance of fire, life safety systems and respond to emergencies per policy.
• Seasonal exterior maintenance including grounds clean-up, snow removal and lighting maintenance.
• Assist in unlocks, room set-ups/tear downs, and package deliveries.
• Monitor the community to ensure safety and security of residents, guests, and staff.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in QA/Process Improvement initiatives.

Join Our Team as a Building Services Technician – Where Every Fix Makes a Difference!

Are you a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in keeping things running smoothly? We’re looking for a skilled Building Services Technician to help ensure our community building, systems, and grounds are safe, functional, and beautifully maintained. From preventative maintenance to timely repairs, your work will directly support a welcoming and secure environment for all who live and work here.

Weekends and holiday availability required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Timely completion of routine repairs, maintenance requests, and work orders throughout the community.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Maintain the overall appearance of the property by painting common areas and apartments at turnover and as needed.
• Assist with maintenance of fire, life safety systems and equipment; respond to emergencies according to Mather policies and procedures.
• Perform seasonal exterior maintenance including grounds clean-up, snow removal and salting, maintain light fixtures.
• Perform/Assist in unlocks, room set‑ups/tear downs, receiving/delivery of packages.
• Monitor the community through regular tours to ensure safety and security of residents, guests, and staff.
• Responds to emergency situations.
• Identifies areas for improvement, proposes possible solutions, and participates in data collection and process changes as part of the Quality Assurance Process Improvement process.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Required:

• 5+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in Senior Living.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, refrigeration, and electrical systems; knowledge of HVAC systems a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Internet, and Outlook.
• Ability to learn work order system.
