Job summary

City of Bismarck is seeking a dedicated custodian to perform custodial maintenance at the municipal airport. Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, dusting fixtures, floor care, trash removal, storage organization, and assisting with special events.

Ideal candidates will have apprenticeship/internship experience or 1–2 years in a similar role, valid North Dakota driver’s license, and knowledge of custodial equipment and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
• Possession of or the ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of North Dakota for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
• Must meet and maintain qualifications pursuant to 49 CFR Part 1542 (Unescorted Access Authority).
• Knowledge of the materials, equipment and methods used in the custodial maintenance of public buildings.
• Knowledge of the operation, maintenance and repair of a variety of custodial equipment.
• Knowledge of safe work practices.
• Skill in decision making and problem solving.
• Skill in communicating with others.
