Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Raleigh, NC is seeking a field observer to support facilities projects. You will conduct field observations and assist with building-related services at various sites.

The role involves working with team members and project managers, handling tasks such as roofing, fireproofing, EIFS, anchor testing, coring, sampling, and investigations, while ensuring safety and timely communication.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an engineering/architecture-related degree.
• Interest in building forensics, mechanical systems, and structures.
• Ability to lift 40–70 lbs regularly and up to 85 lbs occasionally.
• Reliable transportation to job sites with mileage reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field observations associated with existing facilities.

Job Responsibilities

• Conducting field observations associated with existing facilities
• Performing facilities related services including roofing and waterproofing, fireproofing and firestopping, exterior insulation finish systems (EIFS), anchor testing, coring, scanning, material sampling, leak investigations, and forensic investigations
• Interacting and communicating effectively with site contractors, other technicians, and project managers

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, or related degree
• Interest in building forensics, mechanical systems, and structures
• Position requires carrying 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height
• Must be able to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites - mileage will be reimbursed
