WoodMaster Portable Buildings, a division of Tuff Shed, industry leader in storage buildings, is currently looking for a Building Repair Technician based in Cobden, IL. We are seeking motivated and team-oriented individuals!

The Building Repair Technician transports portable buildings, performs maintenance and repairs, opens/closes or resets dealer lots, ensures DOT compliance, and adheres to all company and fleet policies.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

Transporting Portable Buildings

  • Obtain weekly schedule from Fleet Manager for repair orders/assignments.
  • Locate and inspect buildings for defects prior to loading.
  • Repair defects, record serial numbers.
  • Tarps, loads, chains, straps, and placards trucks before departure.
  • Conduct safety walk-around before departure.
  • Transport and reset sales lots as scheduled, ensuring proper lining, leveling, and reporting to dealers.

Maintenance and Repair of Portable Buildings

  • Perform maintenance on WMPB buildings on lots.
  • Handle requested repairs on customer WMPB buildings.
  • Inventory buildings on sales lots.

Open/Close/Reset Dealer Lots

  • Transport inventory to/from dealer lots.
  • Set lot displays per dealer specifications.
  • Align, level, reset displays.
  • Collect sales items and signage during lot closures.

Other General Duties

  • Submit expense reports via Concur weekly.
  • Submit daily mileage reports.
  • Maintain compliance with fleet and company policies, including DOT regulations.
  • Maintain driver logs and conduct vehicle inspections as per DOT standards.
  • Provide updates to dispatchers and fleet managers.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean record.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, traffic laws, vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical and obtain DOT certification.
  • Understanding of DOT regulations, including hours of service and cargo securement.
  • Basic construction experience (painting, roofing) and use of power tools.
  • Strong customer service and professional interaction skills.
  • Ability to operate delivery vehicles safely.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Problem-solving skills using sound logic.
  • Teamwork capability.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel up to 100%, including overnight stays.
  • Minimum 1-year experience as a driver, preferably in logistics.
  • Experience operating tractor-trailers, in construction or manufacturing, and with trailer hookups preferred.
