Job summary

Buro Happold is seeking a motivated Building Physicist Intern to join our Analytics Engineering team in New York. You will work alongside leading professionals to shape sustainable projects and gain hands-on experience in data-driven design.

The role involves computational design tools, environmental modelling, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. We offer hybrid working, exposure to a global network, and learning opportunities, with an hourly rate of 24–34 USD.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or design.
• Knowledge of building physics and passive design.
• Coursework in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
• Experience using Rhino, Grasshopper, Ansys, STAR-CCM+, OpenFoam beneficial.
• Interest in analytics and design.
• Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas clearly.
• Internship experience at engineering related firm preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use computational design tools to solve complex inter-connected design problems.
• Assist with the development of new tools to optimise our work.
• Undertake various environmental modelling analyses, including thermal comfort and daylighting.
• Pioneer ideas and showcase industry-leading consulting expertise to prominent clients and collaborators
