Buro Happold in New York is seeking a Graduate Building Physicist to join our Analytics team and help shape sustainable engineering solutions. You will work with leading experts on projects that optimize space, comfort, and performance.

This role offers hands-on experience in data-driven design, environmental modeling, and collaboration across disciplines. The successful candidate will develop tools, learn CFD, and contribute to real-world outcomes for iconic buildings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Architecture or design.
• Knowledge of building physics and passive design.
• Coursework in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
• Experience in programming languages such as Python.
• Experience using Rhino and Grasshopper.
• Experience using Ansys, STAR-CCM+, OpenFoam beneficial.
• Interest in analytics and design.
• Internship experience at an engineering related firm preferred, and proven interest in the built environment.
• Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible manner.
• Eagerness to learn and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Influence the design of complex high-profile projects
• Use computational design tools to solve complex inter-connected design problems
• Assist the design team in achieving our client’s aspirations
• Assist with developing new tools to optimize our work
• Undertake various environmental modeling analyses, including thermal comfort and daylighting
