BUILDING OPERATOR
Yellowknife, NT

About us:
McCOR Management is one of the largest privately-owned real estate development and property management companies in Canada and we are looking to add to our growing team.

Purpose and Scope:
This role will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of the assigned properties.

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the maintenance and operation of all systems and equipment within their assigned properties including HVAC, building automation systems, generators, etc.
2. Ensuring, as necessary, ongoing in-house repairs and maintenance (i.e. lighting changes, minor repairs, adjusting thermostats, etc.)
3. Available to an on-call rotation.
4. Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and standards.
5. Responsible for day-to-day snow removal tasks (salting, sanding, etc.)
6. Carry out day-to-day tenant requests.
7. Coordinating and monitoring suppliers and contractors on-site.
8. Maintaining logbooks and meter readings on building equipment.
9. Conducting regular interior/exterior, roof, and property inspections.
10. Issuing purchase orders and ordering materials and equipment.
11. Assists with creation and maintenance of operations budgets.
12. Other tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. 2-4 years of similar work experience, operating in a commercial property setting.
2. 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate or successful completion within one year of Hire.
3. Basic working knowledge of Provincial Building Code & Regulations, Canadian Electrical Code, Provincial Fire Code, and Electrical Safety Authority.
4. Must provide a clean criminal record check.
5. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and line diagrams.
6. Ability to work as a team player.
7. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
8. Strong customer service and communication skills.
9. Maintain professionalism when interacting with tenants, contractors & public.
10. Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
11. Basic computer skills.
12. Bondable through the RCMP to work in secure areas.
13. Journeyman Trade Certificate would be considered an asset.
14. Valid Driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
