Job summary

The Bachrach Group is seeking a Building Operating Engineer to oversee operations for approximately 565,000 square feet across three office buildings in the Philadelphia region. The role focuses on maintaining HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems while coordinating with tenants and management.

Schedule is Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–5:30 PM with on-call rotation; some flexibility is available.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent; completion of a building trades curriculum is desirable.
Two to three years of successful experience in commercial or institutional buildings with complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Possess trade valid licenses as required by local regulatory authorities.
Possess valid state-issued driver’s license needed to travel to adjacent properties or to respond to after-hours trouble call.

Responsibilities

Complete operating, maintenance, and repair tasks to assure maximum life and reliability of mechanical systems.
Respond to trouble calls or requests for assistance from tenants.
Maintain logs and records of maintenance per management guidelines.
Collaborate with Chief Building Operating Engineer and Property Manager.
Attend meetings and training as directed; open/close buildings daily.
Open and close one or more buildings each day; respond to after-hours emergency calls.
Monitor building temperatures and adjust as needed; perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
