Job summary

Aoka LLC in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX seeks an experienced Certified Building Official (CBO) to lead a team of building inspectors and serve as a subject matter expert for the sales team.

You will supervise inspection programs, administer building codes, issue permits, and coordinate with other departments to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• ICC Certified Building Official (CBO) required.
• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in building inspection, code enforcement, or construction management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise building inspectors and manage inspection programs
• Serve as subject matter expert supporting the sales team
• Conduct client visits for complex projects
• Administer and enforce municipal, state, and federal building codes, safety, energy, and accessibility standards
• Oversee issuance of building permits, plan approvals, occupancy certificates, and inspection reports
• Interpret complex codes and provide guidance to architects, engineers, contractors, and property owners
• Collaborate with fire, planning, zoning, engineering, and public works departments for coordinated code enforcement
• Manage appeals, code updates, and ordinance revisions
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on inspections, permitting, and code compliance

What You’ll Do
