Independent School District 15 is seeking an Educational Assistant to monitor and supervise students at St. Francis High School (9-12). The role requires ensuring student safety, enforcing school policies, and performing clerical tasks as needed.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and a Minnesota driver’s license. Position offers benefits and follows the Educational Assistant Work Agreement (Level II).

Responsibilities

Salary: According to the Educational Assistant Work Agreement (Level II) $17.80

Supervisor of Position: Douglas Austin, Principal

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; valid MN Driver's License or evidence of equivalent mobility.

Successful candidate will also be skilled in the following:

• Oral and written communication.
• Establishing andmaintaining effective working relationships with school staff, students, and the public.
• Communicating and enforcing school policies and procedures.
• Applying judgment when dealing with students
• Maintaining records and files required of job.
• Monitoring enforcing and mediating student behavior and safety issues.
• Performing general clerical and support tasks required in accordance with district and building procedures.

Summary of Duties

• Monitors and Supervises students, hallways and lunches.
  • Supervises students when teacher needs a substitute.
• When students do not need supervision due to teacher gone for the period, walk halls to monitor student activity during school day.
• Monitors student activities during all lunches.
  • Confer with teachers, staff and/or principals concerning student problems or issues.
• Performs other duties of comparable level or type, as required.

Under the direction of the Principal, the building monitor is responsible for supervising and monitoring students, hallways and lunches.

Positions 1,020 hours or more per year are benefit eligible
