Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Florence, SC. You will develop relationships with local contractors, builders and remodelers, selling a full line of building materials and installed services.

You will manage projects from initial contact through follow-up, with a commission-based earning structure and room for growth. You’ll visit job sites, prepare estimates, and coordinate with yard staff.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building materials outside sales.
• Knowledge of home building basics.
• Create material estimates/quotes and special orders.
• Open new accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take off lists.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Attend HBA/builder/company functions as required.

Responsibilities

• Sell our full line of building materials and installed services to local contractors, builders and remodelers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers across departments and management.
• Manage project opportunities from initial contact to close and post-sale follow-up.
