Job summary

Inside Sales at SRS Distribution Inc. in Syosset, NY delivers product knowledge on drywall, insulation, and related building materials to support customer purchasing decisions at the sales counter and over the phone.

You will build relationships, enter orders in the company system, complete sales and cash transactions, and collaborate with Outside Sales Reps and Sales Managers to plan effective sales approaches. A strong focus on accuracy and customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; a 4-year degree is preferred.
• Ability to self-manage, take initiative, and meet the public.
• Must be a team player with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Taking orders at the sales counter and over the phone.
• Building relationships with customers.
• Ability to use company computer system to enter orders.
• Complete sales orders and tender cash sales.
• Develop product knowledge to assist customers with purchases.
• Collaborate with Outside Sales Reps and Sales Managers to determine necessary strategic sales approaches.
• Overcome objections of prospective customers.
• Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports.
