Job summary

US LBM is seeking a Counter Sales Representative to assist customers and contractors with the sales process in a retail environment. You will take orders over the counter, answer questions, provide pricing information, and help schedule deliveries and installations.

In this role you will help customers select products, process payments, create invoices, and maintain accurate records. You must be customer-focused, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of building material knowledge and sales experience preferred.
• Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Strong communication and numeracy skills.
• Ability to drive and walk throughout yards, plants and offices.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers; answer questions regarding merchandise, pricing, and deliveries; process orders.
• Facilitate product selection for showroom customers with accurate records.
• Process sales at the cash register and handle payments according to procedures.
• Create invoices, work orders, and sales tickets; enter pricing and orders into the system.
• Maintain showroom and stockroom appearance and stock levels.
• May assist with yard/warehouse operations and forklift operation after training.
• Attend trainings and provide location-specific services as needed.
