The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, is seeking a full-time Building Maintenance Worker.

Job Summary:

Performs emergency, preventative, and routine repairs of buildings and equipment. Maintains grounds beautification through routine landscaping work. Handles minor plumbing and carpentry repairs. Demonstrates mechanical skills across construction and maintenance tasks.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Understanding of general building and grounds maintenance practices.
• Ability to learn on-the-job and follow instructions.
• Capability to perform minor repairs on buildings and grounds.
• Effective use and maintenance of maintenance tools and equipment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive according to Salvation Army policies.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English; ability to assist those with limited English skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform strenuous tasks.
• Experience with cleaning, painting, minor plumbing, and carpentry tasks.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or G.E.D., with at least two years of maintenance experience or equivalent training.

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid state driver's license.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Must meet attendance requirements and perform heavy lifting. Capable of climbing ladders and working at heights. Able to work outdoors and in unheated/uncooled environments, exposed to weather and physical discomforts.
