Building Maintenance Tech in Maplewood, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Technician to handle daily building maintenance, safety, and repair tasks. The role covers inspections, responding to requests, and ensuring the property remains clean, secure, and well-maintained.

Responsibilities include routine inspections, preventive maintenance, emergencies after hours, and coordinating access for tenants, vendors, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Prior superintendent, porter, or maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong general repair skills.
• Ability to handle emergencies.
• Basic smartphone skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Perform routine inspections of apartments, common areas, and building systems.
• Respond to maintenance requests (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, Painting, etc.).
• Conduct preventive maintenance and handle after-hours emergencies.
• Track and complete work orders; communicate updates to management.
• Coordinate access for tenants, vendors, and contractors.
• Maintain cleanliness of common areas and oversee trash/recycling.
• Assist with move-ins, move-outs, and unit turnovers.
