Job summary

The City of Ketchikan, Public Works Streets Division, seeks a Building Maintenance Technician III to maintain City buildings and facilities. Regular full-time, Mon-Fri, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; $32.08- $45.14/hr DOQ plus excellent benefits.

Performs advanced skilled duties, serves as senior worker for maintenance projects, and coordinates materials, procurement, vendor, and contractor activities. Five years of experience with related certifications desirable; valid Alaska driver's license required.

Qualifications

• Five years of increasingly responsible maintenance experience in facilities.
• Experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related systems is desirable.
• Possession of an appropriate, valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced skilled duties in maintenance, repair, renovation and construction of City buildings and facilities.
• Serve as the senior worker for assigned building maintenance activities and projects.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and related systems.
• Coordinate material and parts procurement; assist with vendor and contractor coordination.

Job Description:

BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANIII for the City of Ketchikan, Public Works Streets Division. Regular full-time, Mon-Fri, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; $32.08- $45.14/hr DOQ plus excellent benefits .Performs advanced skilled duties in the maintenance, repair, renovation, and construction of City buildings and facilities. Serves as the senior worker for assigned building maintenance activities and projects. Performs complex troubleshooting and repair of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and related building systems; coordinates material and parts procurement; and assists with vendor and contractor coordination. Five years of increasingly responsible experience in the maintenance, repair, renovation, or construction of commercial, municipal, industrial, or public buildings and facilities, including experience providing work coordination, project leadership, or technical guidance to other maintenance personnel. Possession of an appropriate, valid driver’s license. Possession of certification or documented training in boiler maintenance and repair, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related building-maintenance specialty is desirable.Must be able to pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug screen. Must possess a valid Alaska driver’s license or be able to obtain upon hire. Position Is Open Until Filled; EOE/AA.
