Job summary

Sunriver Owners Association in Sunriver, Oregon, is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician – Aquatics to keep SHARC and Member Pool facilities running safely and smoothly.

You will operate, inspect and maintain pool mechanical and chemical systems, monitor water quality and perform preventive maintenance. This hands-on role requires dependability, teamwork and the ability to handle varied maintenance projects year-round.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical background and 1–2 years in commercial facilities maintenance.
  • Valid Oregon driver’s license and driving record acceptable to insurer.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification or ability to obtain within six months.
  • Dependable, hands-on problem-solver with good judgment and independence.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, inspect and maintain pool mechanical and chemical systems.
  • Monitor water chemistry and troubleshoot equipment such as controllers, pumps and heat exchangers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain pools, decks, water slides and mechanical rooms.
  • Assist with building repairs and facility improvement projects.
  • Coordinate with Recreation Department for maintenance needs and daily operations.
  • Maintain equipment records using facility management software.
  • Work with contractors and vendors on larger projects.
  • Identify sustainable ways to care for facilities and optimize resources.
  • Assist with snow removal and winter safety operations.

Description

Help keep Sunriver’s SHARC and Member Pool aquatic facilities running safely and smoothly! As a Building Maintenance Technician – Aquatics (Aqua Tech), you’ll maintain and repair pool mechanical and chemical systems, monitor water quality and help prevent service interruptions. You’ll also tackle a variety of facility maintenance projects and support seasonal operations, including snow removal. This hands‑on role is ideal for a dependable problem‑solver who enjoys variety, teamwork and keeping essential facilities operating at their best.

What You’ll Do...
  • Keep SROA’s pools running safely and reliably by operating, inspecting and maintaining essential mechanical and chemical systems.
  • Monitor water chemistry and troubleshoot equipment such as pool controllers, filtration systems, pumps, motors and heat exchangers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and hands‑on repairs to help minimize downtime and service interruptions.
  • Maintain pools, decks, water slides, mechanical rooms and surrounding aquatic areas so they remain clean, safe and ready for use.
  • Take on a variety of building repairs, painting and facility improvement projects.
  • Partner with the Recreation Department to respond to maintenance needs and support smooth daily operations.
  • Maintain accurate equipment, maintenance and repair records using facility management software.
  • Work with contractors and vendors and assist with larger maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Help identify practical, sustainable ways to care for SROA facilities and make the best use of materials and resources.
  • Pitch in with snow removal, winter safety operations and other hands‑on projects as needed.

To help keep our aquatic facilities in top condition year‑round, this position includes a mix of early morning and weekend shifts.

Requirements
What We’re Looking For...
  • A mechanical background and/or one to two years of experience in facilities maintenance in a commercial setting is preferred.
  • A valid Oregon driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to SROA’s insurer.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification—or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
  • A dependable, hands‑on problem‑solver who can work independently, exercise sound judgment and remain composed when critical equipment is down.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple projects and changing operational priorities.

  • The ability to read and follow safety rules, equipment instructions, maintenance manuals, procedures and SROA policies.
  • The ability to prepare clear, accurate maintenance records, reports and other documentation.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, along with a willingness to learn scheduling, work‑order and other job‑related systems.
  • A positive, team‑oriented approach and the ability to build effective working relationships with coworkers, homeowners, guests, contractors and vendors.
  • The flexibility and readiness to work effectively during emergencies and adverse weather conditions.
