Job summary

Daifuku is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to support operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems inside assigned facilities. You will perform inspections and repairs to interior and exterior areas and maintain lighting, fixtures, and general surfaces.

The role requires one year of building maintenance experience, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a strong customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

Job description

Position Summary

The Building Maintenance Technician supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities. Performs inspections and repairs to property interior and exterior areas, including walls, flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, lighting, and more.

Essential Functions
  • Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and maintain compliance with State, County, or City ordinances, codes, or laws.
  • Comply with all policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Respond effectively to all emergencies.
  • Strong focus on customer service and creating positive interactions with team and clients.
  • Supervise and direct contractors and monitor performance of their assigned responsibilities.
  • Perform and/or direct maintenance service requests, ensuring work is accomplished efficiently with minimal disruption.
  • Maintain lighting system bulbs and ballasts.
  • Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment.
  • Perform general interior maintenance—hang pictures, repair office furniture, assemble furniture, minor plumbing (only on some sites), drywall repairs.
  • Complete special tasks such as painting, locksmith work, tenant service requests, and general maintenance as assigned.
  • Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested.
  • Perform facility inspections and due diligence, reporting conditions affecting client occupancy and operations.
  • Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational training programs.
  • Document work performance and materials procurement as directed, using the work order system.
  • Communicate status of work activity and identify methods to perform activities safely, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Carry out other assigned operational tasks typical of a facility maintenance professional.
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum one year of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, use ladders up to 30 ft, possess mechanical and electrical aptitude, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Compliance with Elite Line Services and client policies and procedures.
  • Self‑motivated, capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable under the company’s insurance policy.
  • Compliance with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy.
  • Promote good housekeeping practices.

  • Pass required background checks for the site location.

Physical Demands
  • Lift/Carry: Standing, walking, sitting, handling/fingering, reaching, climbing, crawling, squatting, bending, lifting ranges from 10–50 lbs (frequently), 51–100 lbs occasionally.
  • Push/Pull: 12 lbs or less occasionally, 13–25 lbs occasionally, 26–40 lbs occasionally, 41–100 lbs not applicable.
Other Physical Requirements
  • Vision near and distance.
  • Lift and move totes up to 49 lbs each.
  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching below waist and above head.
  • Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies up to 100 lbs during site visits.
  • Engage in full manual dexterity with both hands and wrists.
  • Walk throughout the facility with great frequency; facilities average over a quarter mile in length.
  • Climb ladders and gangways safely.
  • Work in noisy, unlit, or unheated environments.
  • Stand and/or walk an average of 5 miles daily.
  • Access all building areas (ladders, stairs, etc.).
Work Environment

Varies between an office and distribution center locations. May involve dust, dirt, and noise levels above OSHA minimums. Personal protective equipment is required.
