Job summary

Elite Line Services is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to service baggage handling systems and passenger boarding bridges at the Seattle area airport. You will perform preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance, diagnose equipment failures, and ensure safe, reliable operation while mentoring junior staff.

Candidates should have 4+ years of mechanical or electrical experience, ability to read blueprints and schematics, and advanced computer skills.

Qualifications

  • Read and interpret repair manuals, computer-based programs, schematics, blue prints and manufacture Instruction to perform preventive maintenance, repair and service.

Job description

  • Advanced computer skills.

Completes and assigns scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of Baggage Handling Systems and/or Passenger Boarding Bridges; Mentors, trains and develops other personnel assigned to assist in maintenance and repair activities.

Completes and assigns maintenance assignments involving but not limited to preventive, routine and emergency maintenance, clearing system jams; shift inspections, cleaning, and/or electrical and mechanical adjustments.

Monitors system operation; diagnoses equipment failures; ensures equipment is running safely.

Provides direction, guidance and expertise to other personnel assigned to assist in maintenance and repair activities; conducts training and mentoring responsibilities, assigns tasks, may act as point of contact in the absence of site management.

Demonstrates professionalism in their appearance, manner and communications with both direct and indirect airport/airline personnel and coworkers in a clear and precise effort while maintaining site moral, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement standards

Reads and interprets repair manuals, computer based programs, schematics, blue prints and manufacture Instruction to perform preventative maintenance, repair and service on designated equipment.

Works in tight and/or high spaces utilizing appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.

Follows and complies with all company and federally established regulations, policies and procedures; completes all applicable training courses assigned by the company

Completes and monitors work assignments of direct personnel according to established tasks, procedures a team working environment and checklists while working alongside your team to set the example as you reinforce policy and develop

Ensures compliance with all ELS safety programs, policies and procedures. Assists in monitoring the ELS Safety program at the site level to raise individual awareness, build a safety culture and reach the goal of zero injuries while adhering to the ELS’s Key Performance Indicators.

Ensures compliance with all ELS quality processes and procedures. Assists in monitoring the ELS Quality program at the site level to provide our customer with the highest level of value and consistent quality service.

Perform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management.

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Minimum 4 years of previous mechanical or electrical experience

Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous work experience in an Airport environment.
  • Previous experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in an industrial environment.
  • Minimum 4 years of previous basic electrical and/or electronic systems work experience.
  • 5+ years industrial mechanical and/or electrical background
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with PLC logic, industrial electrical controls (troubleshooting and repair), and/or Industrial HVAC certification
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience mentoring/guiding and directing maintenance personnel

Computer Skills
Basic computer knowledge, at an intermediate level in working with Microsoft Windows to include Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be able obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Company’s insurance policy
  • Must be able comply with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy.
  • Must be committed to working safely while accomplishing all tasks and promoting a safe work environment at all times.
