Hiring HVAC Building Engineers & Maintenance Technicians - Commercial Real Estate | Competitive Pay + Benefits | Apply Today!
Job Description

Are you an experienced HVAC professional looking to get off the road and take ownership of a premier commercial property? We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician / Building Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, and performance of a Class A commercial facility.

This role is ideal for someone with strong HVAC troubleshooting experience who enjoys working in a Commercial Real Estate (CRE) environment. You'll be responsible for maintaining critical building systems, responding to tenant requests, and ensuring the property remains safe, efficient, and operating at peak performance.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC equipment, including air handlers, RTUs, split systems, pumps, and associated mechanical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation system (BAS) issues.
  • Monitor and maintain central plant and mechanical equipment to maximize system performance and tenant comfort.
  • Respond to tenant service requests and resolve maintenance issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Conduct routine inspections of mechanical rooms, equipment, and common areas.
  • Complete filter changes, belt replacements, lubrication, and other scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Support operation of electrical, plumbing, fire-life safety, and building systems.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors and specialized service vendors when required.
  • Utilize CMMS systems to document work orders, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and overall building operations.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Participate in emergency response and on-call rotations as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience maintaining commercial HVAC systems in office buildings, medical facilities, industrial properties, or other commercial real estate environments.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting RTUs, air handlers, VAV systems, pumps, motors, and related equipment.

  • HVAC, Stationary Engineer, Building Engineer, or related technical certifications preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Strong customer service and communication skills when interacting with tenants and property management teams.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical maintenance activities, including climbing ladders and working in mechanical spaces.
Why Work Here?

Join a stable and growing commercial real estate organization that values technical expertise and building operations excellence. You'll have the opportunity to work on a dedicated property, gain exposure to complex building systems, and make a visible impact on tenant satisfaction and asset performance. Unlike service work, you'll be focused on maintaining and improving a single facility, allowing you to take true ownership of the building and see the results of your work every day.

Work Environment

This position is based at a commercial office property where you'll serve as a key member of the building operations team. The role is highly hands-on and focused on HVAC and mechanical systems, while also supporting general building maintenance.
