We are hiring for a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team!This position provides maintenance and repairs to homes, buildings and equipment on our 145 acre campus in order to provide safe, attractive, and functional facilities for our residents. Our maintenance technicians interact with our residents and staff on a daily basis and require a high level of customer service.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Replaces and installs all major appliances.
- Repairs, installs, and maintains door hardware such as door closures and hinges.
- Repairs or replaces hot water heaters, faucets, garbage disposals, etc.
- Maintains fluorescent light fixtures by replacing tubes, sockets, and ballasts.
- Replaces drive belts, motors and filters, etc. on furnaces and ventilation equipment.
- Performs maintenance tasks at individual residences including, but not limited to, plumbing, replacing thermostats, repairing window and door screens, replacing switches, electrical outlets, and light bulbs.
- Performs courtesy calls on new and relocated residents, hanging pictures, shelves, mirrors or otherwise assisting the resident to settle into their new home.
- Performs light carpentry such as repairing fences, cabinets, doors, doorjambs, and molding.
- Maintains company vehicles in a clean and organized manner; notifies the supervisor of any needed repairs.
- Works with supervisor and other maintenance employees in assessing problems and their solutions as part of the maintenance team.
EDUCATION
- High school education or the equivalent
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum three years related experience to provide a good working knowledge of general maintenance repair techniques of electrical, plumbing, appliance and mechanical problems with a high degree of proficiency and minimal need for supervision.
- Experience working with appliance repair (GE) preferred
- Three years' experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) and one year using BMS (Building Management System HVAC) preferred
- Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints
Our technicians drive a company vehicle to transport equipment or supplies and therefore must have and maintain a valid Washington State Driver's License and a good driving record.Upon completion of training, maintenance staff rotate weekend on-call responsibility. During the on-call period, staff must respond and be onsite within 30 minutes.
