POSITION TITLE: Facility Maintenance Technician

REPORTS TO: General Manager

DIRECT REPORTS: None

COMPENSATION: $19.00 - $25.00 an hour DOE

PURPOSE

The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and systems within the facility. They ensure health, safety, and operational procedures are followed to enhance the member experience, ensuring smooth and efficient facility operations.

The ideal candidate is engaging, diligent, organized, results-driven, and excellent at customer service and collaboration.

DELIVERABLES

The key responsibilities include:

• Communication: Provide daily verbal updates and document work completed; seek feedback from the General Manager on work quality and maintenance needs.
• Scheduling & Planning: Coordinate with the General Manager to schedule and verify work completion.
• Inspection and Testing: Regularly inspect and test equipment, systems, and components for proper functioning.
• Safety: Ensure safety of members, staff, and assets through inspections, club walks, and communication.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair malfunctions in equipment and systems.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform inspections and preventive maintenance as outlined in the CMMS system.
• Repairs: Repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues.
• Work Orders: Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and codes.
• Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory; update work orders daily in the management system.
• Equipment Monitoring: Monitor and test building systems for optimal performance.
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain cardio, weight, and general workout equipment; assemble new equipment; refurbish equipment as needed.
• Emergency Response: Address urgent maintenance issues promptly.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively with the General Manager, district managers, contractors, and vendors.
• General Upkeep: Perform tasks like patching, painting, carpentry, and groundskeeping.
