Job Summary: The Chief Engineer oversees all aspects of the hotel's maintenance and engineering operations, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of hotel equipment, building systems, and property facilities. This leadership role ensures compliance with brand standards, local regulations, and environmental practices, while providing exceptional service to guests and supporting operational goals.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Work in environments with temperature extremes, noise, and confined spaces.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks such as painting, wallpapering, and minor plumbing.

Qualifications

  • Background in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5-7 years experience in hotel engineering or facility management, with at least 3 in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses as required by law (e.g., boiler license, HVAC certification).
  • Experience with building management systems (BMS) and energy management systems preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies 24/7; flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management software (e.g., CMMS).

Compensation Range
$21.00 - $22.50 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
