Job summary

Bienvivir All-Inclusive Senior Health in El Paso, TX seeks a Maintenance Tech to perform plumbing, carpentry, remodeling, painting, minor electrical and other trade work in our facilities. You will document history of work performed and maintain quality through the work order system.

Responsibilities include HVAC servicing, plumbing and electrical repairs, wall fabrication, window/door installations, and equipment maintenance. A valid Texas driver's license and own hand tools are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of on-the-job Building Maintenance/Construction experience.
• Must furnish own hand tools and have a valid Texas driver’s license.
• Vocational training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and use hand, power, and shop tools for maintenance, construction, and repair.
• Complete work orders and document progress in the maintenance system.
• Perform general maintenance and repair, assess situations, and assemble tools and materials.
• Conduct regular HVAC inspections and servicing including filter changes and weatherization.
• Perform routine plumbing repairs (clogs, leaks, water heater work).
• Perform electrical repairs such as changing bulbs and fixtures.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications for projects.

General Description

Under general supervision of the Building Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Tech is to perform general plumbing, carpentry, remodeling, painting, minor electrical and a variety of other trade work in the maintenance and repair of Bienvivir facilities. History of said work performed is to be documented and recorded, utilizing maintenance work order system, to maintain quality assurance within the facilities.

Responsibilities

• Operation and knowledge of hand, power and shop tools used in the course of construction, woodworking, and building maintenance such as power drills, saws, drill presses, joiners and painting equipment.
• Complete work orders and document progress and status on work order, utilizing the maintenance work order system.
• Perform general maintenance and repair i.e. assess situation, assemble necessary tools and materials.
• Perform monthly routine walkthroughs to identify and report any issues with HVAC systems, water heaters, roofing, GFI outlets, dry vents, and emergency equipment. Complete Facilities Hazard Inspections.
• Routinely service HVAC systems to include changing filters, bands, and weatherization process.
• Perform routine plumbing repairs such as unclogging toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets, and water heater repairs/installation.
• Perform routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs, fluorescent lamps, repairing ballast and light fixtures.
• Repair building systems identified in preventive building maintenance schedule.
• Perform general construction work to include wall fabrication, installation of windows and doors systems.
• Preform maintenance of pool equipment to include assessing filter, motor and water circulation functions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications and manuals.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational training preferred.
• Must have 3-5 years of on the job training experience in the field of Building Maintenance/Construction.
• Must be able to furnish own hand tools to preform assigned tasks.
• Must have a VALID Texas driver’s license.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge: Microsoft applications, to include Word and Excel Power Point; Maintenance software system; heating and cooling systems; generator system.
• Communications Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills is a must to communicate with supervisor and to procure materials.
• Time Management Skills: Ability to work under stress and meet tight deadlines.
• Technical Skills: Read blue print or plans and understand other technical aspects of construction.
