Job summary

Central Florida Health Care, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain building equipment in accordance with safety and preventive maintenance standards.

You will handle routine tasks in carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and related trades, with flexible hours and a focus on reliability, safety, and customer service within our Florida facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Two years facility maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
• Experience in safe use of hand and power tools.
• Valid driver's license with proof of insurance.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspects buildings and structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair using a pre-established check sheet.
• Performs minor electrical maintenance including replacement or repair of fixtures using appropriate tools.
• Performs minor plumbing maintenance including leaks and drains work.
• Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry tasks and pressure cleaning.
• Reconfigures and remounts modular offices and space to maximize office space.
• Prepares surfaces and paints structures to protect from corrosion.
• Orders parts and maintains required documents.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and read/write/speak English fluently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer service oriented.
• Ability to meet attendance standards.

Title: Maintenance Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain building and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the sites’ goals and objectives. Responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g. carpentry; electrical; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); plumbing, etc.). Perform other tasks as assigned.

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED, required
• Two years working experience in facility maintenance, preferred
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and carpentry, preferred
• Experience in safe use of hand and power tools.
• Valid and clear driver’s license is required with proof of insurance.
• Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

• Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations using a pre‐established check sheet.
• Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, LED lights, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
• Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, etc.).
• Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.), and pressure cleaning buildings and walkways.
• Reconfigures, installs, positions, and remounts’ modular offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks
• Prepares the surfaces and paints various structures and equipment (e.g. walls, floors, roofs, doors, restroom facilities, etc.) to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe, comfortable working environment using various painting equipment and related tools (e.g. sprayers, rollers, brushes, thinners, etc.).
• Order parts and maintain required documents.
• Performs all other work related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bending at the waist, sitting, kneeling, laying horizontally, climbing, walking, etc., as job may require.
• Requires 80% or more time standing/walking
