Home2 Suites by Hilton Charleston/Mt. Pleasant is seeking a Part-Time Evening Maintenance / Houseperson to join our team in Mount Pleasant, SC. This role focuses on keeping the property clean, safe, and well-maintained, with responsibilities spanning HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and guest-facing tasks.

Qualifications

• FSD Certification or ability to complete company-sponsored certification within first 6–8 months.
• Ability to complete company-sponsored Pool Operator class and pass the exam.
• 1 year as Building Maintenance Technician I or 1–2 years in related field.
• General knowledge of hand tools and maintenance procedures.
• Customer service skills to assist guests and respond to requests.
• Strong time management to deliver quality work within parameters.
• Action-oriented and able to deliver outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Wear brand-standard uniform and required PPE to prevent injury.
• Adhere to safety guidelines for equipment, guest safety and chemical handling.
• Change HVAC filters and perform minor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
• Ensure fire life safety systems are functioning and operational.
• Perform a wide variety of preventative maintenance duties.
• Inspect and clean rooms after work to ensure adherence to standards.
• Pick trash throughout the property.
• Ensure maintenance equipment is functioning and maintained.
• Respond in a timely manner to maintenance emergencies.
• Paint walls, ceilings, doors and window trim as needed.
• Ensure guest laundry washers/dryers, vending machines, and common areas are cleaned twice daily.

Position Overview

Home2 Suites by Hilton Charleston/Mt. Pleasant is looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our team as a Part-Time Evening Maintenance / Houseperson.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys staying busy, takes pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming hotel, and can handle basic maintenance tasks while assisting with evening hotel operations.

What will you be doing most days?

• Wear provided brand-standard uniform, identification, required footwear, and protective equipment to prevent injury
• Adhere to all safety and security guidelines regarding equipment safety, guest safety, and safe chemical handling
• Change HVAC filters and preform minor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repairs
• Ensure fire life safety systems are functioning and operational
• Perform a wide variety of preventative maintenance duties
• Inspect and clean up in rooms after working in them and ensures they are in adherence with company standards
• Pick trash throughout the property
• Ensure all maintenance equipment is properly functioning and maintained
• Respond in a timely manner to all maintenance emergencies
• Paint walls, ceilings, doors and window trim as needed
• Ensure guest laundry washers, dryers, vending machines, and common areas are cleaned twice daily

What are the requirements for this position?

• You have FSD Certification or are capable of completing the company sponsored certification requirements within the first 6-8 months of employment
• You have the ability to take a company sponsored Pool Operator class and pass the accompanying exam
• You are currently working as a Building Maintenance Technician I for at least 1 year or have at least 1-2 years' experience in a related field
• You possess a general knowledge of hand tools and maintenance procedures
• You can work well with others in a guest and team-focused environment
• You have strong time management capabilities and can accomplish quality, detailed work within established parameters
• You have customer service skills and are able anticipate guest needs, greet and acknowledge guests, and respond to guest requests to ensure guest satisfaction
• You have an action orientation and can deliver the desired outcome

Physical Requirements For This Position

This is a physically demanding position. You must be comfortable standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting, and squatting for extended periods of time.

Travel Requirements

This position would require little to no travel outside the property and surrounding area.
