Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company is hiring a Lift Attendant at Snowshoe, WV, a full-time year-round on-mountain role. Wage starts at $22.90 per hour, based on experience, with early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays expected.

Comprehensive training is provided and you’ll join a vibrant team serving guests from around the world. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED; 5 years of maintenance experience in buildings, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and basic electrical; plumbing license

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5 years of maintenance experience (buildings, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, basic electrical).
  • Basic computer skills and safety awareness are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain maintenance requirements and ensure compliance with regulations for equipment and facilities.
  • Inspect maintenance jobs and guide staff to adjust work habits as needed.
  • Develop and update standards and procedures; assist in training programs for subordinates.
  • Attend workshops and read technical publications to stay current and communicate with peers at other resorts.
  • Assist in recruiting, scheduling, coaching, and evaluating staff; oversee projects and coordinate with other departments.
  • Complete maintenance logs and ensure proper billing; monitor equipment and report abnormalities.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintains maintenance requirements, quality, and company reputation by ensuring that all state and federal regulations, insurance and manufacturers requirements on maintenance performed on equipment, buildings and properties are adhered to. Ensure that staff is aware of all current code requirements for maintenance performed.
  • Inspect maintenance jobs regularly and have staff adjust work habits when necessary.
  • Assist in the establishment of standards and procedures, measuring results against standards, and make necessary adjustments by writing and updating policies and procedures as needed.
  • Assist in the development of training programs. Provide information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities for subordinates.
  • Attend educational workshops, read technical publications, read current code changes and communicate with peers at other resorts and sister ITW Resorts.
  • Assist in the recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, scheduling employees, as well as coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Completes projects by overseeing crews working on projects. Coordinates with other departments or contractors to ensure work flows smoothly.
  • Work closely with property owners, property managers, and other departments to resolve maintenance issues in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  • Perform all prescribed maintenance and service on all equipment following manufacturers' requirements, federal and state requirements and insurance requirements.
  • Complete all required maintenance logs and records
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Assemble and test machines to verify correction of malfunction.
  • Inspect all equipment and buildings by observing, monitoring and adjusting equipment during operations.
  • Maintain historical records by ensuring that all maintenance information on all equipment and systems is recorded in compliance with company requirements.
  • Recording and documenting all work performed.
  • Complete, in detail, and turn in all work orders so that proper billing can be achieved.
  • Monitor and test equipment regularly and make aware the supervisor or manager when abnormalities are noted.
  • Refer to equipment technical manuals to ensure proper procedures are followed and proper settings are maintained.
  • Notify manager of any conditions or occurrences that may adversely affect the safety of operation or the quality of our guest experience.
  • Follow the terms of the contracts and agreements that Snowshoe maintains with individual homeowners' associations and individual homeowners' through the Snowshoe Rental Program.
  • Check inventory levels and notify supervisor or manager of any supplies needed. Ensuring staff are returning parts to correct location in shop.
  • Maintain technical and professional knowledge by reading trade publications, attending trainings, workshops, and communicate with peers at other Intrawest properties. Read and understand operational manuals, employee handbook and manufacturer manuals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Experience:
  • 5 years of experience
  • Maintenance experience with buildings carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and basic electrical.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Supervisory skills preferred but not required.
  • Plumbing license required
