Job summary

IC Group is seeking a Building Maintenance Helper in Murray, UT. This entry-level role supports the maintenance team with routine preventive maintenance, minor repairs, basic facility upkeep, and grounds keeping across plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

You will assist senior technicians with various tasks, conduct inspections, manage tools and inventory, and respond to work orders while adhering to safety standards and PPE guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent trade training.
• 0–2 years of hands-on building maintenance experience.
• Proficiency with standard hand tools, power tools, ladders, and basic hardware.
• Basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical concepts.
• Valid driver’s license (if travel is required).

Responsibilities

• Aid technicians with routine repairs across carpentry, painting, and hardware.
• Assist with facility inspections, HVAC filters, and safety checks.
• Support custodial and grounds keeping tasks and seasonal cleanup.
• Manage tools, inventory, and safety equipment; report low stock.
• Respond to work orders promptly within the facility system.
• Follow OSHA standards and PPE guidelines.

Building Maintenance Helper

Position Summary

The Building Maintenance Helper supports the maintenance team in preserving the operational efficiency, safety, and physical appearance of the property. This entry-level role assists senior technicians with routine preventative maintenance, minor repairs, basic facility upkeep, and grounds keeping across plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Routine Repairs: Assist technicians with minor carpentry, painting, drywall patching, door hardware fixes, and general assembly.
• Facility Inspections: Conduct regular walkthroughs to check interior/exterior lighting, replace HVAC air filters, and verify emergency equipment functionality.
• Custodial & Grounds keeping Support: Maintain clean mechanical rooms, shop areas, and common spaces; assist with trash removal, pressure washing, and seasonal snow or debris clearance.
• Tool & Inventory Management: Clean, organize, and track tools, hardware, and safety equipment; notify supervisors when stock levels run low.
• Work Order Response: Complete basic maintenance requests assigned through the facility work-order system in a timely manner.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA standards, building codes, and proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines at all times.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with standard hand tools, power tools, ladders, and basic hardware.
• Fundamental knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical concepts.

• Valid driver’s license (if vehicle operation or multi‑site travel is required).
