Job summary

NCG Hospitality in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Building Maintenance Assistant to support our downtown Hampton Inn & Suites property. The role focuses on guest room preventive maintenance and general upkeep, with attention to safety and quality standards.

Starting pay is $19.00 per hour, with a $500 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. Weekend work is required, and prior hotel maintenance experience is preferred to help keep our property in top condition.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of basic maintenance experience.
• Hotel maintenance experience preferred.
• Schedule requires 5 days/week including weekends.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building construction.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on guest rooms: painting, battery changes, smoke detectors, HVAC cleaning.
• Maintain grounds, landscaping, outbuildings, and parking areas in a clean, safe condition.
• Assist with pool, spa, and general area upkeep per local codes and brand standards.
• Respond promptly to guest problems and concerns.

How You'll Make an Impact

Our detail-oriented Building Maintenance Assistant responds to maintenance requests, and supports the overall upkeep of the property.

• Performs guest room preventative maintenance duties such as painting, battery replacement, smoke detector checks and HVAC cleaning
• Maintains the grounds, landscaping, outbuildings and parking areas in a clean, neat, safe and attractive manner
• Assists in maintaining pool, spa and general area of the property according to specific local codes and brand standards
• Promptly responds to reports of guest problems and concerns

To Be Successful In This Role, You'll Bring

• Prior hotel, building or apartment maintenance experience is desirable, but not necessary
• General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building construction
• Operation knowledge of common power and hand tools
• Ability to perform task-oriented repetitive functions consistently, on-time and error free
• Ability to be patient and creatively problem solve
