Linamar Corporation in Howell, MI is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to uphold facility integrity. You will perform maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and safety systems, while coordinating with contractors and other departments to get tasks done efficiently.

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of manufacturing building maintenance experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to operate industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Familiar with industrial safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality checks on HVAC, lighting, plumbing and low voltage electrical systems.
• Collaborate with departments, contractors, and vendors as needed to complete maintenance tasks.
• Keeping documents of inspections and problems.
• Doing landscaping, outdoor maintenance and pest control.
• Maintaining floor cleanliness with floor scrubber in designated areas.
• Ability to drive a hi-lo and operate cranes and boom lifts.
• Maintaining logs of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to track progress and identify potential issues.
• Adhering to relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies and equipment needed for maintenance tasks.
• Ensuring the building is safe for occupants, addressing any safety hazards, and maintains security systems.
• Maintaining cleanliness of outdoor areas, removing trash regularly, and keeping the building in a tidy and presentable condition.
• Preventative maintenance and small repairs.
• Works with cross functional teams to continually improve, problem solve and reduce waste.
• Other duties as assigned

Description

The Building Maintenance person is responsible for maintaining the property and facility. Duties include a range of maintenance and repair tasks, including landscaping, lawn maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, light electrical and safety repairs.

Requirements

Academic/Educational Requirements

• High School graduation or equivalent required

Required Skills/Experience

• 1 to 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing building maintenance position
• Ability to operate industrial equipment including fork lift, hi-lo, scissor lift
• Familiar with Industrial safety guidelines
• Valid Driver’s License
• Knowledgeable in Lock out Tag Out procedures
