Job summary

Linamar Corporation is seeking a Level 4 – Maintenance Multi Skilled to perform skilled maintenance of facility systems, interpret blueprints, and troubleshoot industrial equipment. You will oversee maintenance programs and coordinate with outside services to install and upgrade equipment.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, millwright-related certification, 2–4 years of maintenance experience, and ability to read schematics; familiarity with AutoCAD and controller systems

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; training or certifications acceptable.
• Certificate of qualifications or related field (millwright preferred).
• Basic welding skill for millwright.
• Courses in controllers (Fanuc, Siemens).

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain maintenance standards and develop maintenance programs.

• Maintain equipment through preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
• Review work orders and personal logbook for jobs to be done.
• Estimate time required for each job.
• Lead troubleshooting and repairs using efficient methods.
• Notify stock deficiencies to appropriate personnel.
• Keep equipment and facilities in maximum uptime.
• Train maintenance technicians on policies and procedures.
• Adhere to EH&S and environmental laws and procedures.
• Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

Job description

Job Title: Level 4 – Maintenance Multi Skilled

Under limited supervision, perform skilled maintenance and repair services of facility systems such as mechanical, electrical, and building systems. Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics. Knowledge of methods, practices, and techniques of maintaining building and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain maintenance standards and develop and recommend maintenance programs.
• Install new equipment using outside services if required .
• Maintain the equipment and facility through preventive/predictive maintenance program.
• Consults the work orders and personal logbook for jobs to be done.
• Understand the amount of time that particular jobs require.
• Give leadership in troubleshooting and repair using the most expedient and thorough methods.
• Let appropriate people know of deficiency of stock parts.
• Keep equipment and facility in working condition for maximum uptime.
• Train other maintenance technicians on policies and procedures.
• Adhere to all E H&S and environmental laws and procedures.
• Other duties/projects as assigned .

A Cademic/Educational Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent expertise gained through professional experience, training, or certifications.
• Certificate of qualifications or certificate in a related field or equivalent working experience (millwright preferred).
• Basic welding skill for millwright
• Taken specific courses and knowledgeable in different controllers (i.e. Fanuc, Siemens).

R Equired Skills/Experience

• Two to four years of skilled maintenance experience.
• Fully capable of level “1”, “2” and level “3” maintenance requirements.
• Able to read and understand all codes and regulations ( E H&S, Electrical). Interpret and review schematic drawings of mechanical, structural, pneumatic and hydraulic systems to understand their operation and identify malfunctions.
• Ability to use specialized measuring tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, angle finders, feeler gauges and dial indicators.
• Ability to evaluate condition of parts and equipment. Evaluate performance of major systems and plant equipment. Assess feasibility of designs for small modifications to equipment and machinery, sometimes in collaboration with co-workers and supervisors.
• Possess good communication skills to discuss work orders, equipment malfunctions and job task coordination with co-workers. Inform supervisors about work progress and seek guidance and approvals from them. Teach practices and procedures to co-workers, apprentices and clients.
• Ability to perform tasks independently under limited supervision. Also form teams with co-workers when necessary to install and overhaul larger pieces of equipment and complete industrial systems. Supervise and train apprentices and maintenance laborers.
• Knowledge of TS 16949 and related procedures. Knowledgeable in different controllers (i.e. Fanuc, Siemens).
• Use computer-assisted design, manufacturing and machining, such as AutoCAD to make small adjustments to scale drawings to reflect modifications to tools and equipment components.
• Maintain continuous learning by reading manuals and bulletins to stay up to date with new developments. Attend training workshops on new equipment and safety procedures as required .
• Ability to develop and implement simple projects.
• Ability to evaluate and select outside contractors.
• Ability to train, lead and mentor other skill level maintenance technicians.
• Ability to prioritize work assignments to meet departmental objectives .
