Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of progressively responsible experience performing residential, commercial, and industrial building inspections.
• ICC Building Inspector Certificate required and maintained throughout employment.
• Knowledge of building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, energy codes and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform the full range of inspections in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, including property resales.
• Review blueprints, plans, specs, drawings and maps for conformance with City standards.
• Detect faulty materials and workmanship and identify remedies.
• Investigate building code violations and respond to inquiries and complaints fairly and promptly.
